Mr. Alston resides in Hampton with his wife Charisse, and their children Amber, Jonathan, and Reyna.
Mrs. Julianne Marse, Assistant Principal
My name is Mrs. Julianne Marse and I'm the Assistant Principal at Epes. I have worked for Newport News Public Schools in various capacities since 1988. I'm a native of Newport News and attended Riverside Elementary, Newport News Intermediate (the version of middle school way back then!) and Ferguson High School. I went to Virginia Tech and Christopher Newport University for a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and The College of William and Mary where I received a Master's Degree in Gifted Education. Most recently, I attended The George Washington University to earn my Education Specialist degree in Leadership and Administration. Before coming to Epes, I was the Assistant Principal at Dutrow Elementary, also in Newport News.
I have lived in Newport News for most of my life, but once upon a time many years ago, I was a military wife who lived and taught on base at Fort Benning, Georgia. I travel mostly to beach destinations, with my favorites being the OBX and Myrtle Beach. I hope to travel to some lesser know islands in the future such as St. Johns. My goal is to retire there someday!
My husband Mike and I, have three wonderful children. Alex graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University and works in Tallahassee at Florida State. Ashton graduated from James Madison University and lives in Richmond, and Phillip is beginning his junior year at Hampden Sydney College. We also share our house with our two dogs!
I'm looking forward to another fabulous year at Epes.
